After closing out 2016 with a bang, Cedar FC has announced its return to the Platea Arena on April 8 for another evening of thrilling mixed-martial arts action, featuring some of the best local and international MMA talent.
The mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion unveiled its 2017 event last week, with no clear schedule for the remainder of the year.
The latest CFC installment which took place in October saw Tristar Lebanon’s Georges Bardawil claim the first CFC bantamweight title, alongside Tristar’s Mark Tanios who claimed the first CFC Heavyweight Title, both against Egyptian opponents.
Originally slated to fight for the CFC welterweight title, Georges Eid was forced to pull out of the event due to injury. His fight against the Italian Punisher Giovanni Melillo (5-1) will now take place at Cedar FC 3 to be held in March.
Although no fights have been officially announced, a lightweight title fight pitting two Arab prospects is rumored for the show.
