An interesting welterweight matchup between blackbelts Aniss Al Hajjajy (8-5) and Christofer Silva (3-1) has been added to Desert Force 20 main card.
Desert Force officials recently confirmed the matchup with on MBC Action Qabl al Muwajaha and subsequently made an announcement via social media, as well.
Al Hajjajy was the former welterweight champion before he dropped to the lightweight division.
Headlined by a welterweight interim title rematch between former interim title holder Mohamed Fakhreddine and #1 welterweight contender Jarrah Elsilawi, Desert Force 20 takes place on January 25 in Dubai, UAE.
An official bout order for the evening has yet to be revealed, but the main card will be aired live on MBC action following the undercard which will be available thereafter on ArabsMMA.
Al Hajjajy won the welterweight title back in 2013 when he defeated Amr Wahman. He then took a long break before coming back as a lightweight to finish Gabriel Tayeh Via TKO at Desert Force 15 in Abu Dhabi. Al Hajjajy currently boasts a three-fight winning streak under the Desert Force banner.
Meanwhile, Silva is actually looking to rebound from a hard TKO loss against Tareq Suleiman at Desert Force 18, Lebanon. Silva holds a win against Abdel Ali Aityachou in his Desert Force debut.
