A matchup of key lightweight prospects has been added to this month’s Desert Force 20 event with Anas Siraj Mounir (4-1) vs.Tareq Hamdi(3-1).

Desert Force officials announced the contest during Desert Force “Qabl Al Muwajaha” episode which aired Monday evening.

Hamdi is the former Desert Force lightweight champion and Siraj Mounir is looked upon as the most decorated striker in the division.

Headlined by a welterweight interim title rematch between former interim middleweight title holder Mohammad Fakhreddine and Jarrah El Selawi, Desert Force 20 will take place on January 25 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

An official bout order for the evening has yet to be revealed, but the main card will be aired live on MBC action following the undercard which will be available thereafter on ArabsMMA.

The former lightweight champion hailing from Jordan brings a scary KO to the cage after picking up victory over Abdulahad Gari in Desert Force 18, Lebanon. At that point Gari was considerd the number 1 contender when hamdi knocked him out with one punch in the first round. Hamdi’s lone career loss came in his first title defense, when he came up short against the current lightweight champion Mohamed Triki via split decision.

Meanwhile, the Moroccan sensation Anas Siraj Mounir registered a beautiful TKO win in his Desert Force debut as a welterweight, but then struggled when he faced the current welterweight champion Mounir Lazzez at Desert Force 10, getting caught in one of the ugliest headkick KO’s in Desert Force history after being on the winning end of the fight. However, he bounced back this past March with a decision victory over Amr Wahman at Desert Force 16 in Saudi Arabia.
