After 3 years in the game, Desert Force’s Al Academiya show continues to march on. Desert Force Al Academiya debuted in 2013 with a breakout season. What came to follow were two additional successful seasons, filling the Desert Force roster with talent.
This time, the all-Arab reality show heads to Beirut, Lebanon for its 4th installment as a new bunch of fighters from the best gyms in the region get ready to prove themselves as the best in the house.
Despite the setbacks in the finale, the previous season of Al Academiya (Season 3) offered a handful of adrenaline-charged fights, trouble and a lot of fun in a place you won’t possibly imagine: Saudi Arabia. Season 3 crowned Ahmad Labban with the welterweight title. Labban was initially supposed to face Othman Najae who was injured and replaced by Inad Bouwidan. As for the middleweight title, both finalists were unable to show up on that day.
Be that as it may, things can’t go wrong this time in Beirut! A record-breaking 5,000+ fans packed the Hikmeh arena when the promotion decided to head to Lebanon on the 25th of August, 2015. Al Academiya Season 4 might not have a live crowd, but it will surely get the support it deserves. What’s more, Sayfco Holding’s Mr. Chahe Yerevanian will be there for it!
As the previous ones, season 4 features two weight classes in the tournament. The weight classes for this season will be lightweight (70Kg), and the new light heavyweight division (94Kg). The 70Kg was first introduced in Season 1, crowning Tareq Hamdi, the underdog who went on to submit Haider Rasheed, and knock out Abdulahad Gari.
