Although the fans of both fighters had previously exchanged barbs on our Forum, the fighters made it a point to embrace before their fight to set a positive example to their followers (Mhamad Karaki even giving Saadah knowing wink when entering the cage).
Although Karaki is normally the Arab version of Rocky Balboa and seems to only get better when he comes back from bad positions or has his head split open, he decided to rewrite the script this time around. Karaki came out strong and jumped on Feras Saadah within the first 20 seconds to pull the Syrian Muay Thai fighter to the ground. Karaki quickly transitioned from guard to side control and worked his way to a full mount. From top position he began raining down blows on the head of Saada who was not defending himself intelligently and offering little to no resistance. The referee decided he had seen enough and stopped the fight awarding a TKO victory to the Shogun fighter from Beirut.
Dominant performance from Karaki from start to finish. Saada never got into the game
Result: Mhamad Karaki, Round 1, Round 1, TKO (ground and pound)
