ArabsMMA reached out to Desert Force officials regarding the decision from the commission to overturn the result of Suleiman/Silva to a No-Contest. Zaid Abu Soud, co-founder of Desert Force, mentioned that:
“Although I personally side with Tarek in this one, we as an organisation have to trust and support the commission. We have to continue to work together with the commission in a way that is best for the sport, the athletes and the MMA landscape at large”
Asked what his thoughts were on the commissioning body and their role in shaping MMA in the middle east, Abu Soud mentioned that:
“Desert Force has been laying the path for professional diffusion of the sport in the regional. We will respect the commissioning body’s decision to make sure we continue to spread the sport in the correct manner.”
