The most anticipated Desert Force event to date, Desert Force 18 in Lebanon will witness some light heavyweight action between Mostafa Rashed from Saudi Arabia taking on the local home crowd favorite Elias Baakliny from Team Shogun.
Desert Force 18 takes place on Monday August 17, 2015 at the Sagesse Stadium in Ghazir. The event will be aired on MBC Action.
Rashed, who is on a 2-0 streak as a professional with both his fights coming by way of TKO, is seeking to send a message by stopping Elias Baaklini and disappointing the home crowd.
His latest win over Nourdin Elzar proved him to be a heavy and hard puncher no doubt. A victory over a fighter with similar fighting style will surely put Rashed in clear view of light heavyweight contention.
Facing him will be Elias “The Predator” Baaklini from the renowned Shogun gym in Beirut.
Elias Baakliny, who is 1-2 as a professional, did not really have the right opportunity to unleash his full potential as a heavyweight. Elias was kept away from the cage for almost two years when he suffered a nasty shoulder injury at his Desert Force debut. He then returned to outstrike Rachid Metlouti before losing to Mark Tanios and dropping weight. “The Predator” and his coaches believe that he will pose a serious threat as he’ll be fighting in his original division. Being very well rounded in the game and possessing a devastating and aggressive set of Muay Thai striking skills, the Lebanese seeks to make a major light heavyweight return with a victory over Rashed.
We will be looking at two guys swinging for the fences and will most probably see a pleasing finish in this one.
