Excitement at 2015 IMMAF World Championships Opening Day

The 2015 IMMAF World Championships kicked off [Monday July 6, 2015] at the at the Flamingo Las Vegas

The 2015 IMMAF World Championships kicked off [Monday July 6, 2015] at the at the Flamingo Las Vegas, taking place during the 4th Annual UFC International Fight Week.

The five-day tournament at the Flamingo Las Vegas will begin with preliminaries from Monday, July 6 to Thursday, July 9.

With the first special guest appearance made by Forrest Griffin, more UFC Hall of Famers, current UFC champions and top-ranked contenders are expected be on hand during the action packed tournament days.

Day 1 of the tournament kicked off in exciting action, as Team Lebanon and Team Bahrain, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al Khalifa, set foot to represent the Arab MMA World.

Team Lebanon’s Joeshwa Mortada let off steam and made noise early on that day! Mortada, the lightweight prospect faced Kaushik Boloor from India in a one sided matchup ending the bout half way through the second with ferocious ground and pound. Three fights further, Imad Hoayek from Team Lebanon scores a unanimous decision victory of 30-27 on all three rounds, carrying the flag forward to day 2. Unfortunately, Team Bahrain’s Abdullah Munfaredi lost his first fight against his Kazaki opponent.

Joeshwa will face Irish opponent Ciaran Breslin as he advances to day 2, Hoayek will face Dante Jackson from New Zealand.

Another two Arab fighters are slated to fight for the first time on day 2, light heavyweight Fahed Dandash from Team Lebanon will face Denis Perry from Ireland, and lightweight Ebrahim Qasim Ebrahimi will fight against Team Austria.
