As expected, it was really just a matter of time before the rivalry between Mohammad Fakhreddine and Tahar Hadbi surfaced back up again on social media. Fakhreddine was silent after the loss, yet not anymore and here is what triggered it!
After Tahar Hadbi’s unanimous decision loss against Jarrah Al-Selawi at Brave 12: KHK Legacy, Hadbi was quick to post a photo of an x-ray scan showing his broken arm, claiming that his arm broke inside the first round and influenced his entire overall output that night.
Accordingly, Al-Selawi replied to Hadbi’s claims by posting a video of himself wishing him well, but shunning him for making this kind of excuse. Al-Selawi explained that Hadbi’s injury did not happen in the 1st round of the fight, but near the end of the 3rd.
Feeling that the result would have been very different had he not suffered from this injury which limited him to use what he believed is only 30% of his abilities in the fight, Hadbi slammed Al-Selawi stating that he would have easily beaten him, and he is ready to prove it.
Hearing about Hadbi’s loss reaction, Mohammad Fakhreddine did not hesitate to send a message and ultimately reignite the rivalry. About the subject, Fakhreddine advised Hadbi to shut the F*** up and stop making excuses about his loss, explaining that he too faced harsher injuries coming into their rematch bout at Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises and still showed up.
Fakhreddine said that he did not hesitate to walk out straight into battle without making any excuses on that night, although he eventually ended up losing the match. The Lebanese Mixed Martial Arts veteran shared his intentions of grabbing a rematch with Hadbi prior to following the necessary protocol of winning his upcoming fight before asking for it.
“People keep asking me about Hadbi and Jarrah’s fight. Hadbi is saying that he broke his arm in the first round and he wasn’t able to compete the way he wanted to. Well, I got news for Hadbi. I want to tell him to shut the fuck up! Bro, I walked into our fight with a broken foot, a slipped disk and a concussion. I didn’t train for the last 3 weeks, all I did was cut weight and I still came to the fight and I fought. Yeah, I lost ok, but at least I ain’t making no excuses. It is what it is, shit happens and I’m sure that we’re going to fight again. Till that time, I’m gonna be quite and I’m gonna do what I gotta do. Deal with the loss and stop talking a lot of shit! That ain’t gonna get you nowhere. Win a few fights then ask for a rematch. I’m gonna win this fight and I’m gonna ask for a rematch. If you’re a man of your word like you said, you feel like nobody can beat you the first time and if they do beat you, then they have to beat you again otherwise it’s a fluke. I feel the same way brother. So, get ready for a second fight man.
Fakhreddine is set to take on Sidney Wheeler at Brave CF 13 in a catchweight bout. The event is set to take place on June 9 at the SSE arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Check out the full fight card.
