Ahmad Al Bossairy vs. Ahmed Fares Set of Phoenix 9

al bussairy feat

Two Arab featherweight fighters, Ahmad Al Bossairy and Ahmed Faress have been added to the Phoenix roster and will make their debut squaring off at Phoenix 9.

The event takes place on August 2 at the Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Headlining the event is a welterweight title fight between Claudio Cezario and Hayder Hassan. Two more title fights take place on the card as Ali Al Qaisi takes on Chabane Chaibeddra for featherweight gold and Anas Siraj Mounir meets Majdeddine Ayadi for the lightweight strap.

One of the early Kuwaiti Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the Middle East, Ahmad Al Bossairy went under the radar after his last Desert Force fight early in 2015. Al Bossairy went 3 in 3 under Desert Force with his most notable win coming against Silvester Saba 5 years ago. He stepped back in the cage last year and earned another W to his record under Kuwaiti based promotion, Wawan MMA.
In his last fight, Al Bossairy looked stronger and much more knowledgeable in the sport of MMA, having obviously made good use of his time away from regional competition to further sharpen his overall skills. Now, he has signed with Phoenix Fighting Championship and is set on making a powerful leap back into the MMA world against a much experienced challenger.

Starting off his career in 2011, Ahmed Faress is one of the most active fighters in the Arab world. With 16 professional Mixed Martial Arts fights (sanctioned and in-sanctioned) and a record of 14-2, the cage has been almost like a second home for the Egyptian, who is finally set to make his anticipated Phoenix debut. One of the most exciting aspects about Fares is that he has never had any of his fights go to a decision, grabbing all of his 14 wins via finishes, especially submissions. His most recent victory came in Brave CF 5, submitting Bharat Khandare in the first.

All in all, Al Bossairy vs. Ahmed Fares has all the making of being a very entertaining bout and eye-catching debut for both fighters. Who will prove worthy of joining the stacked featherweight division of Phoenix FC?
