George Bardawil (4-1), the upcoming bantamweight prospect hailing from Lebanon will have his chance to hold 2 championship belts in 2 different MMA promotions. As announced by EFC Evolution officials, Bardawil will be fighting for the EFC bantamweight title against Philippines’ Jayson Serg (1-1) at EFC Evolution.3

The event takes place in Egypt, Sharm Al Sheikh on the 23th of March.

EFC Evolution is an Egyptian based MMA event that’s part of the Egyptian fighting Championship grape vine. The top Egyptian fighters who proved themselves on the local scene, get a chance to partake on EFC cards.

Despite coming off a loss at European Beatdown 1 against Peter Ligier in Dec. 2016, Bardawil is still considered one of the best bantamweights in the Arab world.

The Lebanese made his promotional debut at Cedar FC 1, submitting Dhurv Chaudhary (7-4). Bardawil then captured the bantamweight crown at CFC 2 as a 3-0 fighter facing the experienced Amer Al Shawnshiry (6-1). A product of Tristar Gym Lebanon, Bardawil is training under the likes of Wissam Abi Nader and Boxing coach Elie Zouein. Since his MMA debut, Bardawil has evolved a seriously powerful striking game. He throws hard, punishing strikes from all angles. It’s a good range tool for a fighter who has no fear of going to the ground in any position.

Little is known about his opponent Jason Serg. He is a black belt in Shuren Ryu with an amateur record of (1-1-1) and a professional record of (1-1). According to mixedmartialarts.com, he made his pro debut back in 2013 when he got welcomed with a vicious KO. He then fought later that year, and won by submission. But also according to that same website, he fought in 2014 as an amateur. Regardless of how the local MMA promotion’s in Philippines are looked upon, Serg should be an easy tasks for the more talented Bardawil.
