Georges Eid Injured, Out Of Cedar FC Title Fight

Cedar Fighting Championship have announced that the welterweight fighter Georges Eid (4-2) has sustained an injury ahead of his title fight against Giovanni “The Punisher” Mellilo (5-1).

Lebanon’s Eid emerged victorious at Cedar FC 1, and he had a scheduled second appearance at Cedar FC against the Italian this weekend. However, Eid will be unable to fight due to a hand injury he suffered during his final paces in training.

Cedar FC officials said:

“Unfortunately, Georges Eid sustained an injury during training last night!! The Doctor’s official analysis was: “stress fracture ,metacarpalgia plus fibrosis and tendinitis of the extensor third finger”

“Hard luck champ we were really excited to see you fight!”

Fortunately for Cedar FC, their “Champions Night” remains stacked with great fights and two title fights remain in the Bantamweight and Heavyweight divisions.

Cedar FC continued in their statement on Facebook:

“The good news is, we still have a stacked Main and Under card, and TWO TITLE FIGHTS!! Georges Bardawil vs Amer El Shawnshiry for the Bantamweight Title and Mark Tanios vs Mahmoud Tantawy for the Heavyweight Title!! The card will also witness the comeback of Elie El Rayess, Silvester Saba and Philippe Massou. More news to come LIVE today 6 PM at Blueberry Square Dbayeh. Moreover, you can watch it live on MTV Lebanon.”

The fight will still go ahead and take place at the next Cedar FC.

In the other title fights at Cedar FC 1, Mark Tanios will face Marian Iovita and Georges Bardawil will face Amer El Shawnshiry.
