After two successful battles under the Brave Combat Federation banner, the Bahraini super star Hamza Kooheji will look to add a third win to his record when he faces Chaitanya Gavali at Brave 5: ‘Go For Glory’ on April 23 in Mumbai, India.
Brave Combat Federation announced the new pairing along with five more bouts added to the card. The event will be headlined by a fire cracking match up between to extremely hard hitters, Carl Booth and promotional new comer, Tahar Hadbi. The co-main event will feature in India versus India collision where Mangat takes on Abdul Muneer in a ground proving match up.
Kooheji (5-1) will look to upset the Indian local crowd and stack a third victory against Gavali in his home country. In his Brave CF debut (Sept, 23, 2016), Hamza submitted his Egyptian opponent with a North South Choke in front of a huge Bahraini crowd. He then went on to impress again at Brave 2: Dynasty, earning a clear unanimous decision win over Pacatiw.
It will be a tough test for Bahrain’s Kooheji when he steps in to face the “Dangerous” Chaitanya Gavali. Gavali has 6 wins and 3 losses coming into this fight, with the crowd advantage clearly bumping his spirit. Yet, Kooheji is no stranger to challenges and that’s what brings the best out of him. Rewinding back to his professional MMA debut, it was Swapnil Barve who was the victim when the “Cool Guy” made his way to India. This trip should have the same result!
“It’s great to head back to India, that’s where I had my MMA debut. They sent my way one of their best fighters, and that’s the type of opponents I would like to engage with. When you’re a fighter, all you want to do is face someone who brings it, challenges you and tests you. That’s how I see it!”
