
Hattan Al-Saif has been making waves with her PFL signing. She had a lot to say about one fight in particular at PFL vs Bellator on February 24th.
Al-Saif made history by becoming the first Saudi Arabian woman to sign to a major MMA promotion. But the 22-year-old was on hand simply as a spectator at PFL vs Bellator. This Saudi Arabian cross-promotional event that pitted champions champion from the respective organizations also featured meaningful undercard fights. These were bouts of obvious localized intrigue that showcased regional talent that included fellow gym compatriot Abdullah Al-Qahtani.

Her teammate Abdullah Al-Qahtani would garner a TKO victory early on in the third round of his fight with the hometown favorite resonating with the crowd after his Edukondala Rao victory.
Addressing Abdullah Al-Qahtani’s biggest MMA win to date and his third straight win under the PFL banner, Al-Saif said,
“It means a lot and I’m so proud. It wasn’t unexpected, no, I knew that he will do a great and such an amazing performance like that. It feels like I’m the one who was fighting, I was screaming next to him and I was shouting, so proud of him. I’m very proud of him because he’s a member of my team and of my family. Yeah, he did it!”
When it was playfully mentioned that she was the loudest person cheering in the arena during this Al-Qahtani bout, Hattan Al-Saif retorted,
“Yeah, I’m sure about this one (laughs).”
The Muay Thai gold medalist readies for her amateur MMA debut later this calendar year. This foray into fighting with the four-ounce gloves will be a part of the PFL MENA circuit. The surging martial artist has also placed first at both the Saudi Games and World Combat Games.
