Phoenix 1 Championship will take place in Beirut, Lebanon this December with Muay Thai legend Buakaw leading the charge. As announced yesterday, two Arab fighters will join the fray of what already promises to be a star studded line-up.
Egypt’s Ibrahim El Sawi will battle Lebanese Kassem El Khatib as part of the Muay Thai card. Phoenix Championship confirmed the fight yesterday via Facebook:
Former Arab MMA champion Ibrahim El Sawi will face Lebanese Muay Thai champion Kassem El Khatib at PHOENIX 1 this December in Beirut – Lebanon.
Ibrahim El Sawi, the former Desert Force 84Kg champion, is one of the most recognized faces in the Arab martial arts scene. He earned the title back in 2014 when he knocked out stand out fighter Abdallah Abou Hamdan. With a professional record of 6-4, El Sawi has been a serious nightmare for all his opponents finishing 5 out of 6 fights by way of KO/TKO. With big power in both his hands, good striking skills and a gigantic figure, everyone knows that it’s lights out for anybody the moment El Sawi connects to the chin.
Both of El Sawi and El Khatib have have participated earlier this year in Beirut Fight Night Muay Thai event with El Khatib defeating Mohanned Hussein, and El Sawi beating Stefanos Manoli.
