The 2015 IMMAF World Championships kicked off today [Monday July 6, 2015] at the at the Flamingo Las Vegas beginning with the preliminaries of the five-day tournament from Monday, July 6 to Thursday, July 9. The finals of the IMMAF World Championships will move to the UFC Fan Expo® at the Sands Expo & Convention Center at the Venetian on Saturday, July 11, where IMMAF’s 2015 champions and medalists will be crowned.
Middleweight 84 KG fighter, Imad “Caveman” Hoayek, representing team Lebanon in the IMMAF World Championship, won his first fight in the tournament once again this year, putting in a solid performance where he showcases his entire skill set as a complete mixed martial artist and a serious force not to be reckoned with.
Facing Daniel Mullet Keith, a German wrestler, Hoayek opened the first round by surprising the German with a quick gameplan that mixed the German’s entire plans for the bout. It was a down hill slope from there as the the European BJJ Open silver medlist, Hoayek, out-grappled the wrestler with his top control and BJJ skills for the rest of the round and the rest of the fight.
Round two went pretty much the same with Hoayek landing more ground and pound and a highlight reel uppercut that dropped the German who barely clinged on to survive. In the last round, Muller attempted a desperate, last resort takedown which Hoayek blocked. Hoayek controlled the rest of the round with ground and pound and a constant threat of an armbar. His opponent was actually at that the fight had ended.
Hoayek scored a unanimous decision victory of 30-27 on all three rounds. Hoayek advances to day two of the competition.
