Islam Reda’s profile

Islam Reda sports a 10 – 1 MMA professional record and currently rides a four-fight winning streak. He started his fighting career way back in 2013 on the Egyptian MMA circuit, where he stacked up an impressive, six-fight winning streak. This opened doors to the BRAVE CF cage for him. He made his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 21, but unfortunately for him, he was defeated by Abdullah Al-Qahtani.

Strangely enough, Reda was scheduled to fight at the GCFC 9 event in Ukraine. However, all of his potential three match-ups got canceled.

Islam Reda resurfaced in 2021 when he submitted Mahmoud Hassan with a Rear-naked choke at GEC 2.

Next, he switched his attention to other promotions. At Hexagaone MMA 4 he secured a unanimous decision win over Wilson Varela. Finally, he made his UAE Warriors debut in March 2023. At UAE Warriors 38 he tapped out Chakir Haj Haddou with a Rear-naked choke. Reda continued his winning ways by submitting Ernie Braca with an Arm-triangle choke at UAE Warriors 44.

His proven submission prowess led to his grappling match against Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship event. Reda tried his best, but the Judges gave the win to Al-Selwady.

PFL involvement in the Middle East

Professional Fighters League had its sight set on the Middle East region for quite some time now. Back in 2022 the promotion partnered with the MBC broadcast group, to allow fans from the MENA region to follow all of PFL events live.

In August 2023 a Saudi Arabia-based SRJ Sports Investments acquired a minor stake in the promotion. This allowed PFL to purchase a rival promotion, Bellator.

At Last year’s PFL Championship fans learned that an intepromotional super card is in workings. PFL vs. Bellator: Champs will take place on February 24th in Riyadh. This is just a prelude to the upcoming 2024 PFL MENA tournament.

Next to all of this the promotion already signed Middle Eastern fighters such as Jarrah Al-Silawi and Ahmed Tarek.
