RIZEUP Fight Night is a brainchild of Izzeddine Al Derbani. The initial event will take place on December 23 in Amman, Jordan, and will air on Jordan TV. The fight card will feature both amateur and professional MMA bouts.
Izzeddine Al Derbani’s take on promoting the event
The Palestinian follows in the footsteps of fellow fighters who decided to try themselves in a promotor’s role. Jorge Masvidal, Chael Sonnen, Urijah Faber, Nick Diaz, Anthony Pettis, and Kazushi Sakuraba are only a few individuals, who wrestled with the task of putting on an event.
Fortunately for Al Derbani, he can count on the support of some crafty businessmen. What’s more, mentioned support includes building an entire arena for the event:
“I have a strong team backing up this project. Business Man like Maher, Hashem Qatada, and Mr. Mohamed Shhadeh were the first to support and believe in my idea. I have been planning this for over 2 years, studying the market, learning from previous and current promotions, and coming up with this format. “
“RIZEUP Fight Night full fight card is ready and all sponsors and team are on board. We built an arena strictly for this event.”
Fans will see some familiar faces
There wouldn’t be any fight card without fighters. And so Izzeddine Al Derbani and the rest of his team signed some well-known names from various countries:
“The card has fighters from Dagestan, Tunis, Russia, Iraq, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon.”
“We brought back fighters, you will be shocked. Like Big Joe “ Yousef Abu Shreekh “ and Ali Al Naeemi, fighters were known on the Arab MMA Scene but have not been present for a while now. Ali Al Naemi was looking to jump back and get into a fight, I told him to come ill find you a perfect spot on the Rize Up Fight Night card. He’s active in Jiu-Jitsu and is in shape. You will see some up-and-comers that will impress you a lot, I don’t care about their age, if they can put up a nice show, they are welcome on our card. “
As ‘The Palestinian Samurai’ said himself, the main purpose of the RIZEUP Fight Night is to give an opportunity to the next generation of fighters:
“We’re doing this for all the upcoming athletes to find a platform that gives them a fair opportunity to grow.”
