Izzedine Al Derbane Puts Final Touches on his Prep for Phoenix 3

It looks like Izzedine Al Derbane and Mohammad Fakhreddine are taking no prisoners at Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand!

“I said it before and I say it again now, I will retire Grimshaw on September 22. This won’t be the first time I fight someone on his own ground and it doesn’t phase me at all.”

Al Derbane is no stranger to Phoenix Fighting Championship as the Jordanian was part of the Muay Thai card at the promotion’s inaugural event, Phoenix FC 1. That night, Izzedine outclassed Jonathan Tuhu to earn an audacious victory against the Thai opponent.

This time, al Derbane will shift back to MMA, where he is mostly recognized for his highlight reel 30-second knockout of Bahraini Hamza Al Kooheji.

With Phoenix 3 being around the corner, the Jordanian Muaythai and mixed martial arts fighter, Al Derbani is training hard in preparation for his fight. Undefeated in both styles, he takes on Ashleigh Grimshaw next on the prelims MMA card of Phoenix 3 UK vs. The World.

Grimshaw, like Izzedine, is also an MMA fighter with a strong Muaythai background. Holding a record of 18-10-1, He will be fighting on his home turf of England. With this advantage, Izzedine is looking to even the odds by training and getting ready at Tiger Muaythai in Thailand along side welterweight superstar, Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine, who is also known for camping there prior to his fights.

“It is always great to have close people around you in your training camp. My teammates at Tiger Muaythai are always ready to help, and so is Fakhreddine as friendship bonds us together.”

Izzedine vs. Grimshaw is one of the most anticipated MMA fights on the Phoenix 3 fight card. Both these fighters had a few things to say to each other in the build-up for fight day. It will be interesting to see what goes down when they meet inside the Phoenix ring and are finally allowed to (Legally) throw lethal fueled strikes at each other.

Phoenix 3 will take place on Friday 22 September at the Indigo at The O2 in London and prelim bouts will start at 6:30pm (BST). Click here to find out how to watch Phoenix 3.
