Al Academiya’s Ricardo Bachir Challenges Georges “Bulldozer” Eid

Some interesting posts have been dropped on social media after CFC 4 took place last Sunday. Remember Ricardo Bachir from Al Academiya? Well this guy jumped out of nowhere and called out Georges “Bulldozer” Eid for a fight.

Holding an amateur record of 4 wins and 2 losses, Ricardo Bachir burst on the local Lebanese mixed martial arts scene in 2014, grabbing two consecutive victories via KO and TKO with both wins coming on the same night of him competing in the LMMAC (Lebanese Mixed Martial Arts Championship). After that, he qualified as part of the first Lebanese and Middle Eastern team to compete in the opening IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) tournament in Las Vegas that took place on the famous UFC Fight Week.

Ricardo came short in a decision loss to Polish fighter Karol Linowski, who went on to gain a professional record of 3-1 thus far.

Ricardo Bachir’s next move was to join Desert Force Al Academia reality TV show in its third installment, where he had 3 memorable performances, losing the first one via decision, but grabbing the opportunity to come back on the show and winning his next two fights via TKO. As a result, Ricardo qualified to the finals where he was set to face Tunisian fighter Abdul Rahman Dridi in Desert Force 19. However, Ricardo was forced to pull out of the bout due to a broken leg and he has not competed in any mixed martial arts fight since then.

Recently, Ricardo Bachir has fired shots via social media at Georges Eid, one of the most famous welterweights in the region.

Apparently, Ricardo was not impressed by Eid’s victory in his last fight against Malaysian fighter Syabtu Zaayon Aumazza, though Eid finished the fight in the first minute via TKO. Ricardo then continued to deem Eid’s opponent as incompetent and went on to challenge Georges Eid.

A multiple time Sanda national champion, holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 5 wins with 2 losses, “The Bulldozer” Georges Eid is a serious force in the local mixed martial arts scene who is more than a hand-full for any opponent to deal with. Eid has not replied to Ricardo Bachir’s social media lashing, and seems to have an upcoming scheduled fight soon to worry about as he will be carrying the Lebanese flag to Europe.

You have to wonder if it would make sense for Eid to fight Ricardo Bachir who does not yet have a single professional fight?
Not to mention that both Eid and Ricardo compete at a different weight category, with Ricardo being a middleweight and Eid a welterweight.

Yet, after the latest CFC matchmaking, anything is possible!

Both these fighters are known for being tough strikers, Ricardo being primarily a heavy handed boxer and Eid a crafty multiple time Kung Fu champion, so it will be interesting to see if the fireworks will happen and what will actually come next in this story.
