BRAVE Combat Federation has announced on the re-match where Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine (14-4-0, 2 NC) will face Mohamed Said Maalem (11-3-0, 1 NC). The rematch will be the culmination of a fierce rivalry between the two fighters and two dominant nations in the history of Middle Eastern MMA.
The fight will mark the redemption for Mohammad Fakhreddine who had earlier faced his rival Tahar Hadbi from Algeria twice. After a much-debated no-contest, the rematch witnessed Algeria scoring a win over Lebanon making it 0-1 in favor of Algeria. However, things have changed with Fakhreddine evolving as a better fighter with his amazing ground game, wrestling, and stand-up skills.
Fans across Lebanon are waiting for redemption to tie up with Algeria with a win over Maalem. Maalem has dominated the earlier fight which resulted in a no-content landing illegal strikes to the back of the head of Fakhreddine angering his fans in Lebanon.
Fakhreddine is among the only three fighters to bring down the Lion of Jordan – Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi who made it to the headlines in PFL crushing his helpless opponent named Lilly, to a condition similar to his name “Lilly” with a knee that gave numerous sweet dreams to Lilly.
His opponent Maalem has a 6-fight win-streak as he is set to face Fakhreddine. A win over Maalen makes it 1-1 for Lebanon and Fakhreddine over Algeria while retaining the title and breaking the win-streak of Maalem. Middleweight champion Mohammad Fakhreddine will have a new chance to become a two-weight world champion at BRAVE CF 57 when he faces arch-rival Mohamed Said Maalem once again.
What are your thoughts when Lebanon faces Algeria yet one more time?
