Stephen Loman sets yet another milestone at the BRAVE Combat Federation as he completes an iconic 1000 days as the Bantamweight Champion. “The Sniper” seized the world title on 17 November 2017 at Bahrain during the first-ever BRAVE International Combat Week. He knocked out Gurdarshan Mangat for the inaugural Bantamweight World Championship. Currently, Stephen Loman is the longest-reigning world champion in the promotion. He is also the longest-reigning champion for Team Lakay, the iconic Fight Team from the Philippines which has produced world-class athletes under the Head Coach, Mark Sangiao.
Loman celebrated his 25th Birthday on 24th June 2020 as the reigning champion, while commanding an impressive professional record of 14 wins against two losses with an 8-fight win streak. He had defended his world championship 4 times during his reign as a champion. He had defended his championship against top prospects from world-class fight teams including Straight Blast Gym Ireland, Chute Boxe, La Bonne Ecole, and Tristar Gym.
Loman grew alongside BRAVE Combat Federation popularizing the promotion in the Philippines which also shares a rich history when it comes to combat sports. Loman is the sole champion in the promotion from the Philippines.
Loman is a Criminology graduate at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City. He had a Wushu background before he transitioned into MMA. He had proved from time to time that he is adept in the striking game as well as in wrestling.
What is noteworthy is that four out of his six appearances at the BRAVE Combat Federation went the distance, out of which three were championship bouts. Loman is the only champion in the promotion to have a majority of his fights going the distance, drawing his opponents into deep waters with his resilience and brute strength that renders some of the best submission experts in the promotion to appear helpless.
Loman earned the respect of fight fans from around the world for his humility and for not indulging in trash talking. The bantamweight champion showcased a different side of martial arts which emphasizes discipline, respect, and humility.
The Bantamweight World Champion from the Philippines has stated that he is ready to defend the championship however there is speculation regarding his next opponent. To retain Stephen Loman will be among the top priorities for the Bahrain based promotion at a time when top talent is signing with the UFC. This also makes the upcoming championship title defense to be crucial for the champion as well as for the promotion.
The reigning champion of the BRAVE Combat Federation is currently among the biggest MMA stars in the Philippines. Given his age and his career trajectory makes him the most valuable stars in the promotion’s roster.
