Martial arts champion and founder of the Abu Dhabi Top Team Marcos Santa Cruz Oliveira, also known as Santa Cruz kicked off his USO/Multi National Corps – Guam -entertainment tour. Santa Cruz delivered a speech for children regarding bullying at the ceremony in Guam, encouraging the audience of military members and children to reach for their goals and work to be champions in their field.
“I am tremendously excited about going overseas with the USO,” says Marcos Santa Cruz . “The men and women on duty in the military are literally on the front lines and I’ll do whatever I can to show them how much their service means to everyone back home.”
Born in Brazil, Oliveira has had a large impact on the BJJ and mixed martial arts scene in the past decade. He became a BJJ world champ in 2006, and again in 2009, fulfilling his lifelong dream.
“If you have a dream and you work hard, it’s not enough,” Oliveira said. “You have to work way above the hardest part.”
Marcos Oliviera now lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife Caroline De Lazzer, herself a BJJ world champ, and his young son. With his own championship goals achieved, Oliveira said he’s turned his attention to helping others achieve their dreams.
