Whereas Mohammad “The Latest: Fakhreddine still strongly believes that he bettered Georges “Buldozer” Eid with his late second round TKO stoppage with only a second to go to the third round that left a lot of confusion, reaction and debate, Eid still firmly believes that he was robbed of a fight that could have very possibly gone either way.
Sharing his side of the story, Eid had a strong opinion about his bout with Fakhreddine, blaming the referee Yazan Ghattas of making the big mistake of stopping an entertaining, well-balanced fight, in pre-mature time, saying.
“This is a co main-event and the fight was stopped unfairly. This fight would’ve have went to a decision and that decision could have clearly gone either way. I was ready to fight a third round if the referee had only admitted his mistake and told us to get ready to go for round three. This is not the first time this happens at Desert Force and I this issue should not be left un-settled.”
Although it seems that the only way to solve this issue once and for all is to have the first ever Desert Force re-match privilege crowned by these two fighters, who really were putting on a show, Fakhreddine, in an interview with Arabs MMA and his sponsor Mindspike, claimed that the re-match will not occur because he is confident and convinced about the result.
Still, fans have very different opinions regarding this subject. These opinions explain very different, yet legitimate points of view. Also, since the Desert Force president Mohammad Mirza, expressed his opinion stating that this fight was stopped too early, we can now only question what Desert Force promotion does next to ensure that both sides get their fair share.
