You don’t have to look beyond the four main bouts on the ONE FC Dubai (ONE FC: Reign of Champions) lineup to realize that this is by far the biggest event that the Asian promotion has ever put on! The action begins this Friday (August 29, 2014) from inside Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Aoki Vs Shalorus
Aoki is a better submission grappler than Shalorus, and during his dominant victory over world class wrestler Antonio Mckee he finally showcased his improved striking. My prediction is a 2nd round finish Aoki representing Evolve MMA.
Askren Vs Nobutatsu Suzuki
Askren is an undefeated Olympic Wrestler. The fomrer Bellator Welterweight Champion already a member of team Roufus recently added the Evolve MMA team to his training camp. Suzuki is a powerful striker who will instantly put his name into top 20 consideration with a win over Askern. In the classic striker vs. grappler matchup, I predict Funky Ben Askren gets the fight to the ground early in the first, and rinse and repeats his way to a decision victory.
Koji Oishi Vs Jadamba Naratungalag
Jadamba is one of my favorite fighters nobody knows about. The former K-1 Max star, and Legends FC Champion is a world class striker, with high level judo and solid brazilian jiu jitsu skills to match. An explosive striker, my prediction is Jadamba lands a spinning back kick to take the One FC Championship away from Oishi.
Huerta Vs. Christian Holley
At 10-0 Holley is a tough prospect from the UK who has never tasted defeat, however he has never been in the cage against someone with the experience level of Huerta. A former UFC and Bellator star, Huerta is
badly in need of a victory at this One FC Dubai. Having gone 1-6 over the past 6 years, this maybe one of the final opportunities fans have to see Huerta step into the ring live. My prediction is Huerta weathers an early storm from Holley, before showcasing the improvements he has made in his conditioning by working with the coaches of Tiger Muay Thai, giving him the decision victory and his first win inside the One FC
cage.
Kaminishi Vs. Mcsweeney
Kaminishi has a great record at 8-1, however with over 20 professional MMA fights McSweeney has the experienced needed to pick up the win. A world champion striker, I have had an opportunity to work with McSweeney during his camp at Phuket Top Team. My prediction is McSweeney avoids to ground game, and showcases his punching power for another KO victory, setting himself up for a ONE FC Heavyweight Championship bout.
Burns is a BJJ phenom who I predict big things from in the sport of MMA. Despite almost giving up almost 3x’s the experience against Tanaka, Burns has had the benefit of training with the world renown Evolve MMA in Singapore. My prediction is Burns gets hit a few times before getting the fight to the floor where he will be able to control the action on his way to a decision victory and a perfect 4-0 record.
Vaughn Donayre Vs. Mohammed Walid
Walid could become the best Arab in MMA once his career is finally finished. Only 3 fights into his professional career Walid is already the Dubai FC Welterweight champion. Walid will use his aggressive
grappling to get the fight to the floor where his BJJ Skills will allow him to maintain position while he works his GNP for either a submission or TKO victory against the tough 8-1 Vaugh Donayre.
Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke Vs. Ali Yaakub
Dejdamrong is one of the best Muay Thai fighters to ever cross over into MMA competition. While his record is 1-0 in MMA, Dejdamrong is a veteran of well over 100 professional full rules Muay Thai fights, and has been training with the world class Evolve MMA team in Singapore leading up to this bout. My prediction is a first round KO for Dejdamrong against his Malaysian opponent.
Ana Julaton Vs. Ann Osman
In a historic fight for women’s MMA, Muslim fighter Ann Osman will be facing Filipino boxing expert Ana Julaton. I expect Ann to continue showcasing the wrestling she showed against Sherilyn Lim, and get the fight to the fence where she can work the bout to the floor in an effort to get the decision victory.
