A high-profile welterweight match between Moroccan Ottman Azaitar and Britain’s Charlie Leary has been added to Brave 4: Unstoppable fight card.
Brave Combat Federation president Mohamed Shahid broke the news today. The 170-pound match-up will take place on March 31 in IPIC Arena, Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi.
“ Abu Dhabi is going to love this battle. Ottman is undefeated and has the chance to show the world his true quality against an opponent like Leary. He always brings the fight to the cage. Leary on the other hand comes into this fight with a 5 fight win streak and a lot of experience. Both fighters are full of confidence and looking to make a statement for the stacked 170 pound division of Brave CF. “
Azaitar, who fights on home turf for this event, comes in undefeated, putting his (8-0) record on the line. He made his promotional debut at Brave 2: Dynasty back in Dec. 2016, defeating SBG Ireland’s Kevin Koldobskey via unanimous decision. Azaitar, an entertaining and highly popular fighter in Middle East, will face 5-time British champion Charlie Leary.
Leary (13-7) is currently riding a five fight winning streak. With 21 professional fights and 13 wins on his record, he has managed to rack up five titles and pit himself up there with some of the best lightweights the UK has to offer. The winner of this battle will position himself as one of the top welterweights in the promotion.
The event will be headlined by Brave Combat Federation’s first championship title fight between Aglerian Elias Boudegzdame and Mexico’s Masio Fullen. Broadcast plans weren’t announced; past Brave events have been aired on OSN Sports 4, Bahrain TV, MYX TV ( Nationwide US Coverage ), ABS CBN Sports+Action , El Ray Network and LIVE on BraveFights.com
