We have been noticing an increasing number of Lebanese fighters competing abroad and getting the opportunity to showcase their skills on an international scale.
Knockout Academy’s home bred bantamweight fighter and Al Academia season 2 finalist, Philippe Massoud, will be looking to make his 4th appearance as a professional, taking on his Irish opponent Arann Maguire in his homeland of Ireland at Cage Legacy 4.
Similar to Massoud, Maguire also has a professional record of 2 wins and 1 loss. Massoud’s wins have both come by way of submission, whereas Maguire’s wins have come by way of technical knockout. However, Massoud is known to be really good on his feet and has exceptional striking skills that can be a handful for anyone in his division. This is an important fight for Massoud as his opponent is one of the largest challenges he has faced yet.
Also, Philippe Massoud’s team mate, Jena Karam, who holds an undefeated amateur record of 2 wins, will have a slot on the Cage Legacy 4 card in Ireland. Jena’s first win came by way of submission late in 2016, whereas her most recent victory in April came by way of technical knockout due to an injury suffered by her opponent during the fight. It’s good to see a Lebanese female mixed martial arts fighter also have the opportunity to represent her country abroad.
Both Massoud and Jena have a serious assignment ahead as they will be fighting on foreign soil on the 29th of October at Cage Legacy 4 in Ireland. We wish them the best.
