Philippe Massoud: I Want My Shot for the Title After My Test at Evolution FC

Philippe Massoud (1-1-0) will fight this Friday at Evolution FC “Return of the King” taking place in Cairo, Egypt. He faces Egyptian prospect, Abdul Fatah Toha (6-1-1) in a bantamweight battle that could produce the next title contender.

Massoud made his latest cage appearance at Cedar Fighting champion 2 where he defeated Rahal Laarioui with a quick first round submission. He now travels to Cairo to face one of the best fighters in this division in front of his home crowd.

Philippe Massoud:

“Toha is a tough kid, with 8 fights under his belt. But when the cage closes on Friday he won’t have a clue what hit him. Whether it’s in Cedar FC or EFC, I am making a run for the title, and I wont settle for anything less. They said Toha is the best they got, let’s go, but once I pass this test, I want my shot for the title.”

Massoud, who fights out of Knockout Academy, is a kickboxing world champion and has grown immensely as a striker under head coach Michael Amer. Two division Desert Force champion Mohamed Karaki, who handles Jiujitsu in the Academy, is also on the watch making sure Massoud is ready for his fight.

Mohammad Karaki:

“Massoud is a different kind of beast now. I don’t see anyone stop him from the regional bantamweight fighters. Ever since his first MMAfight, this guy has improved tremendously and he keeps evolving. We worked hard, and we will settle for nothing less than a finish.”
