Phoenix boss labels Lazzez as “Most Dangerous”

On Friday Dec. 22 in the United Arab Emirates, Mounir Lazzez (5-0 MMA) will be back in a headlining act for the first time since 2015, as the welterweight veteran will take on Christophe Van Dijck (8-3 MMA) at the Phoenix 4 event.

Lazzez has been away from the cage for more than two years, but during his three years of professional action, Mounir Lazzez long established himself as an all time dangerous threat in the Middle East’s welterweight division. Period.

Undefeated with five crushing wins — all via knockouts against top contenders — and having sat atop his division’s throne, “The Sniper” has gotten the attention of Phoenix Fighting Championship president Chahe Yerevanian, who labeled the Tunisian as the most dangerous welterweight in the region.

Chahe Yerevanian:

“Mounir Lazzez is the most dangerous welterweight in the Middle East, no questions asked. He couldn’t have fought more perfect fights. The way he finishes his fights, with vicious brutality, precision and technique is comparable to none. No other Arab fighter has done it like him.”

As he looks to tie the ribbon on another historic event, Yerevanian believes Lazzez would make a perfect headliner for Phoenix’s debut in Dubai. Yerevanian would love nothing more than to see Lazzez put on a performance as amazing as his previous ones.

Chahe Yerevanian:

“He is the ideal candidate to headline Phoenix 4 card. when Lazzez was around, very few dared to fight him, and now he’s back and I have no doubt he will deliver a performance like all his previous ones.”

Phoenix 4 Dubai takes place Dec. 22 at Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai, UAE. Could Van Dijck possibly hold the answer to “The Sniper” devastating striking? You don’t want to miss Lazzez’ return to the cage at Phoenix Fighting Championship.
