Ramazan Gitinov (5-0-0) defeated his nemesis from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Prince Lolia (3-1-0). The IMMAF gold medalist representing the Kingdom of Bahrain handed over the first defeat to the outspoken Lolia. During the fight week, Lolia was critical of Gitinov’s style and mocked the Dagestani heritage of his undefeated rival.
BRAVE CF 82 held in Mauritius marked the second event of 2024 for the BRAVE Combat Federation. The event was the fourth in the African continent by the organization that has hosted events in most nations worldwide. The event once again cemented BRAVE Combat Federation’s position as the only international MMA organization to host events in Africa.
The Fight
The opening fight of the night showcased Ramazan Gitinov facing Prince Lolia. Ramazan Gitinov entered the fight in full focus picking his rival apart. Despite training closely with Eliezer Kubanza, Lolia was overwhelmed by the strategy of Gitinov. Ramazan was able to land a takedown in under a minute in the opening round. He capitalized his position to wear out his opponent forcing him to make a mistake. With severe pressure he trapped his opponent with significant reach and size advantage to an arm triangle. Dominating the ground game like a veteran, Gitinov forced Lolia tap out to the arm triangle. With the win, Ramazan maintained his undefeated record in professional MMA.
Aftermath
In his post-fight speech, Ramazan put the entire lightweight division of BRAVE CF in notice. Most significantly, he issued a warning to the BRAVE CF Lightweight champion Abdisalam Kubanychbek. Currently, Gitinov is undefeated in hist past 35 fights. Also, the IMMAF world champion from KHK MMA Bahrain has won 8 fights, 4 amateur and 4 professional fights in 2023 alone. With his professional record improved to 5-0-0, Gitinov is aiming at the top guns in the promotion. The prodigy from KHK MMA has emerged as the future of the Dagestani legacy as he is acknowledged by the torch bearers like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. During his camp leading to BRAVE CF 82 in Mauritius, both veterans supported him and acknowledged his efforts. A few more wins will cement the direction for Gitinov and possibly a shot at the world championship title of the promotion.
