Rhys Mckee to Face Khamzat Chimaev at the Fight Island

Khamzat Chimaev will face Rhys McKee 11 days after his UFC debut

Khamzat Chimaev is ready to claim his second UFC win in 11 days after his UFC debut. Equally impressive is the challenge undertaken by Rhys McKee in short notice after signing with the UFC. Chimaev will face the former Cage Warriors welterweight contender who has a professional record of 10-2-1 and will make his UFC debut this Sunday.

The 24-year-old, McKee accepted the fight on only one week’s notice. McKee’s welterweight contest will take place on the undercard of the headline bout between Darren Till and Robert Whittaker. The contest is subject to McKee passing a series of Covid-19 tests throughout the week.

McKee (10-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is a previous lightweight champion in the UK based BAMMA. He had signed for Cage Warriors in 2018, picking up a pair of stoppage wins in the promotion’s lightweight division. Recently, McKee moved up to welterweight and scored a 63-second knockout of Hakon Foss.

Chimaev has an undefeated professional record of 7 wins and will have his second UFC fight in 11 days when he takes on McKee.
