During his presence in Las Vegas to attend the 2015 IMMAF World Championships, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa visited the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) headquarters in the city.

As disclosed to ArabsMMA by Sheikh Khalid’s media office, Sheikh Khalid was received by UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, WSOF matchmaker Ali Abdelaziz, in addition to other UFC officials. His Highness was taken around for a tour the company’s headquarters, during which he briefed on the company’s plans and efforts to promote the sport of mixed martial arts.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa then held a meeting with Mr. Fertitta and Mr. Ali Abdul Aziz discussing the possible ways that they could cooperate in order to develop the sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain, offer opportunities for young Bahraini practitioners, and grow from an amateur to a professional level.

HH asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain has taken clear steps to create the appropriate atmosphere for the dissemination of culture sport of mixed martial arts among Bahraini’s. He explained that the sport of mixed martial arts has become a focus of attention of young Bahraini’s who are increasingly practicing and specializing in martial arts.

In their turn, Mr. Fertitta and Mr. Ali Abdul Aziz expressed their appreciation for the visit of His Highness Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and thanked him for his outstanding efforts in supporting mixed martial arts in Bahrain, stressing that the company is open to a joint cooperation with Bahrain and specifically with Prince in order to improve and develop the sport at the local level in the Kingdom.
