A glorious representation for Team Lebanon ended today as Joeshwa Mortada and Imad hoayek got eliminated in the semi-finals of the IMMAF amateur world championship 2015. With two bronze medals secured, it was a great run for the up and coming national team that is yet to flourish.
With four back to back fight days of fighting, Mortada managed to bag his first win with an impressive first round TKO victory, secured a Unanimous decision in the second appearance, followed by an emotional third round armbar end to his third battle. Mortada came short in the semi-finals where he faced Finnish Repo Tuukka. Tuukka who finished all of his opponents differently will face Josh Ellis from UK in the Finals.
Middleweight fighter Imad Hoayek also had a good run this year reaching the semi-finals. He reached an impressive Unanimous decision win in his first appearance, followed by a first round submission win in the second fight. Hoayek faced Brendan Allen from USA who managed to sink in a rear naked choke half way through the second round of his third fight. Allen will face UK’s James Duckett in the finals.
Stay tuned as the IMMAF amateur world championship hits the UFC Fan Expo this Saturday.
