
Just recently Slim Trabelsi won ARES FC heavyweight title and now he’s scheduled to make his UFC debut. At UFC 280, which takes place at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, he will take on Parker Porter.
ESPN broke the news on Twitter:
“The UFC has signed Tunisian heavyweight Slim Trabelsi, and he will make his promotional debut against Parker Porter at UFC 280 on Oct. 22 in Abu Dhabi. Trabelsi is a former amateur wrestler, training out of MMA Factory. He has trained with Ngannou and Gane. One to keep an eye on.”
The Tunisian fighter sports an unblemished 5 – 0 MMA record. He’s the newly crowned ARES FC heavyweight title holder. He won the belt at ARES FC 8 just eleven days ago. He stopped Azamat Nuftillaev in the second round. Prior to that he defeated UFC veteran Luis Henrique Barbosa. According to ESPN Trabelsi trains at MMA Factory in France. He used to train alongside Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane.
Porter was riding a three-fight winning streak, that was stopped by Jaliton Almeida at UFC Fight Night 206. Prior to that, he beat Josh Parisian, Chase Sherman, and Alan Baudot. Bellator and CES MMA veteran was originally scheduled to face Hamdy Abdelwahab.
UFC 280 will be headlined by a lightweight championship affair between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev. The Iranian fighter Beneil Dariush will take on Polish up-and-comer Mateusz Gamrot. The Palestinian Belal Muhammad will face Sean Brady.
