Mounir Lazzez and Gabriel Bonfim’s pairing was added to UFC 283 fight card. The event will take place on Jan 21, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bonfim was the first to break the news, which was later confirmed by multiple sources with knowledge and various media outlets.

The Tunisian fighter sports an 11 – 2 professional MMA record. Eight of his wins came by the way of knockout or TKO. Most recently he secured a decision win over Ange Loosa back in April. Thanks to his win he bounced back after a loss to Warlley Alves which he suffered back in January 2021. Mounir Lazzez is a former Brave CF super lightweight title contender with a 2 – 1 balance in the UFC welterweight division.

He made his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige, where he beat Abdul Razak Alhassan by a unanimous decision after three rounds of fighting. As mentioned earlier, he suffered a loss to Alves in his next UFC bout.

This was the second loss of his professional MMA career, as he stacked up a seven-fight winning streak. For a time being, he was unbeaten in Desert Force and Brave CF. However, Elder Eldarov beat him at Brave CF 23 in a super lightweight title fight.

Bonfim has an unblemished 13 – 0 record. None of his 13 consecutive wins was awarded to him by the judges. The Brazilian captured the LFA welterweight championship gold back in March. He secured himself the UFC contract by submitting Tey Waters with a Von Flue choke at Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this month.
