Belal Muhammad managed to continue his winning streak, as he defeated Sean Brady at UFC 280. The TKO victory was Muhammad’s ninth consecutive win. However, it put Brady’s fifteen-fight winning streak to an end. In his in-ring interview ‘Remember the name’ called out Khamzat Chimaev, who was in attendance in Eithad Arena that evening.
Belal Muhammad victorious against Sean Brady
The fight served as a preliminary feature bout. The win didn’t come easy for Muhammad, as his opponent was awarded the first round by the judges. All thanks to his striking. The American continued to push the pace in the second outing and got the upper hand in the exchanges.
Brady’s domination was shown when he hit Muhammad with a solid left hook. Shocked by it, Muhammad withstood the adversity and answered with his big right-hand punch to Brady. Then a barrage of punches followed, finally forcing the referee to step in and call an end to the fight.
Belal Muhammad was declared a winner with a TKO victory at 4:47 of Round 2, putting an end to Sean Brady’s unblemished record of 15 wins in a row.
Muhammad called out Khamzat Chimaev
Interestingly enough, during his in-ring interview, Muhammad challenged another undefeated UFC competitor. The victorious fighter first called out Leon Edwards, a reigning UFC welterweight title holder, then went after ‘Borz.’ No 5-ranked welterweight mentioned Chimaev’s weight fiasco prior to UFC 279. Khamzat’s failed attempts to make weight led to the cancelation of his fight against Nate Diaz. As he stated himself, ‘Remember the name’ is ready to fight ‘Borz’ in a catchweight bout.
Muhammad said in his in-ring interview:
“I heard Leon Edwards is out here. Where is he at? I also heard the big-bad wolf if coming back down. I can fight at 179.8 . Doesn’t matter to me. I’m here to fight the best people.”
