Martun Mezhulmyan vs. Acoidan Duque will headline UAE Warriors 34. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 20 at Al Jazira Sports Club in Abu Dhabi. The broadcast will be available on UFC Fight Pass.
UAE Warriors 34 main event
Martun Mezhulmyan is a Russian MMA circuit veteran, who sports a 13 – 2 professional record. He has a 3 – 1 balance in UAE Warriors. He won 3 of his last 4 bouts and most recently he secured a submission victory over former Shooto Brasil champion, Carlos Silva.
Acoidan Duque spent most of his career fighting for various promotions in his native Spain. He made a jump in the competition when he took on Carlo Pedersoli on Bellator Euro Series 9. He won that bout by unanimous decision and stacked up a six-fight winning streak. It was put to an end in his UAE Warriors debut when he was defeated by Damian Skibinski. He bounced back from that loss, but his most recent fight was overturned into a no-contest. He has a 17 – 3 record.
Prior to his loss to Islam Mamedov on UAE Warriors 14, Mezhulmyan was riding an eight-fight winning streak. Six of them were TKO finishes. The Armenian fighter has 7 of them in total with most of them coming in the first round. He also has submission and decision wins, three each. Interestingly enough all of his 3 defeats came by the way of submission.
The Spanish athlete won most of his fights with a submission. He managed to tap out eleven of his opponents. He only has 2 knockout wins on his record and was awarded four victories by the judges. Duque was stopped on two different occasions and suffered one decision loss.
Takin Duque’s submission wins into consideration it’s easy to see that he will be looking to add another tap-out victory to his record. Especially, when all of Mezhulmyan’s losses came by submission. However, the Armenian managed to TKO most of his opposition, so getting him on the ground will not be easy and could cost the Spanish fighter this fight.
