The accoladed Emirati Jiu-Jitsu athlete flew high over the mountains at Jebel Jais Flight on Saturday 31st March, accompanied by Brazilian black belt Igor Silva.

Abu Dhabi, 31 March 2018: Faisal Al Ketbi, the thrill-seeking Emirati Jiu-Jitsu champion took flight in style at the Jebel Jais Zipline yesterday with Brazilian black belt Igor Silva. The world’s longest zipline measuring an impressive 2.8km in length, equivalent to over 28 soccer fields, spans the chasm of Jebal Jais, the UAE’s largest mountain peak at over 1,680 meters above sea level. Enjoying some downtime ahead of his appearance at the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship next month, Faisal was full of excitement and adrenaline as he took the heart-pumping flight.

The launch of the world’s longest zipline is another milestone in Ras Al Khaimah’s campaign to transform the emirate into the region’s adventure and activity tourism hub. With the Emirate benefitting from diverse landscape – including the Hajar Mountains and Jebel Jais – it has already built a following amongst walkers, hikers and cyclists, especially with the opening of the highly successful Jebel Jais Via Ferrata (Iron Path), hiking, climbing and ziplining product in 2016.

This year, in its 10th anniversary, the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is celebrating champions in the Jiu-Jitsu world and in all aspects of life as well – the champion found within all of us. an initiative that aims to inspire people to find the hero inside them through discovering their true potential.
