The Algerian fighter, Abdullah “The Blade” Medjedoub, put on a great performance in his inaugural Desert Force fight against Tarek Suleiman, winning via TKO (Leg Injury). The Blade showcased his dizzying striking skills (despite being a trained boxer, his elusive front kick was particularly impressive) and will want to get back into the Octagon as soon as he can, a sentiment echoed in his last interview with MMAJUNKIE.COM “2014 can be a big year for me”.
It is too soon for Medjedoub to challenge for the title of an already stacked division, nevertheless we would love to see him put his skills to the test of Abdullah Abou Hamdan, who most recently won the ArabsMMA Fight of the Night brawl against Mahmoud Salama in June, 2013.
The Hooligan Abou Hamdan (9-3 MMA, 2-0 Desert Force) was supposed to initially fight on the Dubai Card in October but a toe injury laid rest to those plans. The injury has now healed up nicely and the Lebanese fan favourite will look to get back into the cage as soon as he can.
A fight against Medjedoub makes a lot of sense for both fighters. Both fighters love to strike and would put on a memorable show for the fans. Abou Hamdan could potentially put himself into title contention with a win over the Algerian whilst the latter would take a huge step towards being the number 1 contender with a win over a tough opponent. This one has “Fight of the Night” written all over it!
