In the course of the 2015 IMMAF World Championships, the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) held its first annual general meeting during which representatives from across the globe proposed and voted on key issues, leading to the federation’s first board elections this year.
The existing board of directors, acting as volunteer members, are Bertrand Amoussou (president, France), George Sallfeldt (vice-president, Sweden), August Wallen (Sweden), Tom Madsen (Germany), Frank Babcock (US) and Robbie Olivier (UK). Since its formation in 2012, the current interim board representatives have worked hard to establish the organization, oversee the expansion of IMMAF to encompass 50 members, and host the World Amateur Championships.
Mr. Wissam Abi Nader, who was running for candidacy to represent Asia with two other candidates, earned 7 out of 13 votes and was elected as board director alongside Raymond Phillips (South Africa) and Stewart Brain (Australia).
Meanwhile, Wissam Abi Nader was also part of another milestone achievement for the Arab World when Tristar Gym’s Joeshwa Mortada and Imad Hoayek proudly raised the Lebanese flag for four consecutive days, securing two bronze medals at the IMMAF 2015 five-day tournament.
Exceptional achievements from the Lebanese representatives at the second Amateur World Championship under the IMMAF banner. With 2 Medals and an influential board member , MMA will surely be progressing immensely in our Region.
