Three titles will be on the line on Saturday October 22 at the Platea Arena when Cedar Fighting Championship returns to host its second fight night to date. One of the most seasoned fighters in Lebanon returns to the cage after a very short break as Mark Tanios faces Italian newcomer Marian Iovita for the CFC heavyweight title. On September 25, Tanios took part of Japan’s infamous Rizin Fighting Federation where he faced Jiri Prochazka who boasts 18 professional wins under his record. Mark Tanios had a successful debut at Cedar Fighting Championship’s previous event with a first round submission victory over Selim Kobrossly.
CFC II bantamweight championship fight features Georges Bardawil who returns to CFC to take on Egypt’s Amer El Shawnshiry. In his first appearance at Cedar FC, Bardawil stormed Dhruv Chaudhary to earn his third professional career win. Bardawil’s opponent, Amer El Shawnshiry, is a fighter as tough as nails and has scored 6 first round wins all in Egypt. This will be Amer’s first appearance outside of Egypt as he takes on the Lebanese on his home turf.
The showdown for the welterweight crown pits Lebanese fighter Georges Eid (4-2) who will face Giovanni Melillo (4-1) from Italy. Eid is coming off a decision victory against Akram Benali at Cedar FC 1 which took place past April.
CFC II will take place on the 22nd of October, hosting 40 fighters from 12 different countries, in addition to two women’s bouts on the amateur card.
