1. THE CARD – GREAT MATCHUPS
This is a fight card full of great match-ups, which is free of politics and dreamy for fight fans. There are simply no clear cut fights, or enormous favorites, which makes each fight a thrilling prospect. In the main event, the man who has won seven out of his last eight fights, Rami Aziz (8-3), takes on Jordan’s young superstar Abdul Kareem Al-Selwady (5-1). How about “The Butcher” vs “The Boogeyman”? Richie Martinez (3-1) vs Ahmed Amir (5-1), two submission specialists. Or the ferocious Indian Abdul Muneer (6-1) taking on former UFC fighter Masio Fullen (10-6). These are fascinating match-ups, each with their own story. Nobody’s coming to make up the numbers here and that’s what makes the fights mouth-watering.
2. INTERNATIONAL POOL OF FIGHTERS
All eyes will be on the international fighters making the flight to Bahrain, all coming with impressive records, and some with fearsome reputations and intimidating skill-sets. Outside the middle-eastern region, there is Mexico’s Masio Fullen, who is a veteran mixed martial artist, and Taekwondo World Champion, having competed in the UFC three times. Richie Martinez comes with high credentials in Jiu-Jitsu – a black belt no less. Thiago Vieira is undefeated and has brutally stopped all his opponents. These are high level international athletes who are coming to Bahrain and it’s going to be enthralling to watch them perform against the finest middle-eastern fighters.
3. BAHRAIN’S GOT TALENT
Bahrain has two homegrown fighters in Brave: The Beginning and the atmosphere when they fight will be one to savor. Mohammed Atif and Hamza Kooheji will perform in front of their family and friends, near where they grew up, which will make their fights charged with emotion. They are both new to MMA, having just turned professional. Kooheji has fought four times and looked like a genuine prospect yet conversely we are yet to see Atif at this level. Both fighters will answer many questions on September 23rd and are very much looking to raise the flag of Bahrain to the world.
4. CAREER DEFINING FOR FIGHTERS
This is the first Brave show which makes it a golden opportunity for fighters to step up and make a name for themselves. He who can win at Brave: The Beginning, such a historic show, will be remembered and firmly etched into the minds of the powers that be, His highness Shaikh Khalid and CEO Mohammad Shahid. He who can win big and win impressively, could become instant heroes in this new promotion, where so many eyes will be on this premier show. The show needs heroes and superstars and on this fateful night we are going to see lives changed and careers made for those who rise to the occasion. There are many fighters who are not world-renowned yet, but have the potential for greatness. Brave will be a platform for some to achieve worldwide fame and some fighters on this Brave card will be household names in years to come.
5. GAME CHANGING FOR THE MMA WORLD
Brave has lofty ambitions and the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid and CEO Shahid is far reaching. They want to create a force for good in the world of MMA, bridging cultural barriers, embracing the world’s finest athletes, empowering nations and enriching communities. For this vision to succeed, Brave must be a shining example of MMA at all times, with great ambassadors, exciting shows for the fans and happy heroes who are enjoying their careers and being paid well for their dedication and sacrifice. The passion and dedication of the CEO is clear for all to see and it’s hard to imagine he will not achieve his goals, no matter what the obstacles. Brave’s journey begins on September 23rd and like all first shows, they need to get off to a spectacular start and set the standard for the future shows.
