Abdo Saber will soon be competing under the African Knockout banner.
The Instagram account @theakoshow shared a clip of the announcement related to Saber’s involvement in AKO 3 on March 2nd in Lagos.
The Egyptian combatant will make his debut under the AKO banner at this event. This will be the twelfth professional MMA fight overall for Saber.
This promotion is helmed by former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has hugely aided the growth of this organization which began as an amateur MMA reality TV show that broadcasted on Netflix. They operated under the Face Off Fight Night moniker for three events before rebranding into African Knockout.

In the aforementioned IG clip, he said,
“Assalamu Alaykum. Hi everyone. Abdo Saber, on March 2 in Nigeria AKO I have a fight with guy from Congo. His name (Josias) Musasa, we will fight in main event. I want to send a message for my opponent hey, brother. Musasa, how are you, brother? I hope you are safe, ready, ok?”
“Train hard because I want to come in there, make crazy fight. I like all people to watch my fight in Nigeria and enjoy my fight. I would like to enjoy my fight, ok? I come and take my belt, go home. Ok, brother? If you like watch my fight, it’s on Super Sport and YouTube. So guys on 2 March main event.”
The 35-year-old has previously competed for promotions like Hexagone MMA, UAE Warriors, Brave CF, and Centurion FC to name a few. Abdo Saber also has multiple professional boxing bouts on his resume, including an Egyptian welterweight title in the sweet science, beyond his ever-developing MMA career. He has competed as high as welterweight in mixed martial arts but some of his recent bouts have taken place at featherweight.
Musasa is undefeated as a professional mixed martial artist, he has a one hundred percent finishing rate, and none of his contests have encroached into the third round. ‘The KO Wizard’ also has localized familiarity to the lineage of the promotion as the Congo native has fought as a pro-MMA combatant under both the Face Off Fight Night and AKO banners. Musasa’s last fight took place on AKO 1 and he looks to improve to 5-0 in the coming weeks.
