Abe Alsaghir improved to 5-0 as a pro mixed martial artist and collected some gold in the process.
‘The Killer’ bested Jimmy Sandlin by way of a second-round TKO at Lights Out Championship 16 in the co-main event and became the promotion’s new lightweight champion. The 155-pound throne was vacant leading into their June 1st fight at Hype Athletics in Wayne, Michigan.
Alsaghir now has an eighty percent finishing rate in his professional MMA run at this point in time.

The 22-year-old has fought his entire pro career up until this juncture under that LOC banner. Alsaghir fought for Lights Out Championship from their eleventh to fourteenth installments. His last fight prior to the title-winning effort over this weekend went down in January and he made good on this big bout after not continuing his Lights Out streak by competing on LOC 15.
Prior to turning pro, Abe Alsaghir also went 6-0 as an amateur MMA fighter which extends his winning streak to eleven straight mixed martial arts contests overall. His opponent Sandlin had came in having had fourteen pro MMA bouts with Alsaghir touting the veteran status of his in-cage adversary and had stated that his fight versus ‘The Sandstorm’ was the biggest of his career.

The American-Lebanese fighter is on a path that saw him best a competitor who has fought under the Combate Global banner with Sandlin also having previously fought in bare knuckle boxing within the ranks of BYB Extreme.
Alsaghir has previously stated that he has an express goal to become the first Lebanese-American fighter to make it onto the Dana White Contender Series circuit. This strong title garnering effort here further builds up a case for the titular figure/ face of the UFC to invite the surging lightweight into Contender Series down the line.
The Detroit Jiu Jitsu Academy product has also secured multiple gold medals within submission grappling. Abe Alsaghir now has an MMA strap to go along with his NAGA gold medals on his seemingly ever-growing mantel.
