A true authority in Combat Sport you name it! We at ARABSMMA went out and about along with little red riding hood, and asked the “Sultan”, Mehdi Baghdad what he has to say about the most technical/mathematical UFC match this year pitting none other than Tarec Saffiedine Vs Rory Mac Donald. This is what he had to say.
THE SETTING
Strike Force welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine is set to face Canadian welterweight Rory McDonald in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Oct. 4.
THE CANADIAN
McDonald (17-2) enters the cage coming off back-to-back victories over Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia, and a win over Saffiedine could earn the Canadian prospect of a shot at the welterweight gold. He has won seven of his past eight UFC bouts, including a pair of TKO finishes.
“I don’t know about the Rory’s BJJ, but I’m quite familiar with Tarec’s and its real good; he is the next UFC champion.”
THE ARAB
Saffiedine (15-3), who has been dealing with injuries since he moved from Strike Force to the UFC, impressed in his Octagon debut, defeating Hyun Gyu Lim in January. The Team Quest product was forced to cancel other two bouts due to injury, against Robbie Lawler and Jake Ellenberger.
MEHDI BAGHDAD, “THIS IS HOW I SEE IT”
“Tarec vs Rony is going to be a mathematical fight 2 more hard training in world a lot calculated for this fight. I know Tarec, he’s a more aggressive fighter than Rony. Tarec has better striking and wrestling than Rony. I don’t know about the Rony’s JJB, but I’m quit familiar with Tarec’s and its real good; he is the next UFC champion. He is training really hard for this and he is good on all fronts.”
SALAM, ARAB POWER.
