Desert Force Al Academiya 2 is underway on MBC Action, airing from the KASOTC Military Training Center in Amman. Three episodes of the show packed with entertainment and good fights have already broadcasted, with Abdul Kareem al Selwady and Aziz Julaidan leading the teams.

ArabsMMA had the chance to sit down and talk to Abdulkareem Al Selwady for his comments on the 3 episodes so far.

Abdulkareem Al Selwady:

Al Academia’s last 3 episodes put the fighters to the test, and in my opinion it was a really good experience the fighters. Even though it was a very tiring and stressful, I’m pretty sure now that they all are happy to have been through the test. As for the fights, the 3rd episode had good quality of fights. Yaser Zaed vs Osama was an amusing one to watch, since both of them were explosive and had a mix of striking and ground game. Even though they had some mistakes in the fight; well hey that’s why they are here right? To come and learn.

Probably more so than the fighters, the fights, and the training, the success of Al Academiya largely relies on the coaches themselves! The two coaches will a go against each other once again in Desert Force Al Academia II Finale taking place end of this year in KSA. At the end of 2013, Julaidan requested to fight Al-Selwady after the former had been newly crowned with the Desert Force 66 KG title, defeating Yousef “Polvo” Al-Hamad via first round knock-out. Though the bout was set and the prize luxurious, Julaidan dropped out of the fight due to a reported injury.
