The secret’s out. After weeks of speculation, Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady finally has an opponent for his comeback fight. The Jordanian will face dangerous Brazilian Erick “Índio Brabo” at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions. The news was shared by Al-Selwady himself in an interview with ArabsMMA and the promotion has confirmed that the Lightweight bout is indeed official.
Al-Selwady and Erick mark the first fight confirmed for the groundbreaking event, which marks Brave Combat Federation’s return to the Kingdom of Bahrain after a worldwide tour of events, that took the event to countries like Brazil (twice), United Arab Emirates, India, Kazakhstan, and Mexico. The Jordanian is coming off two promotional finishes, as he submitted Rami Aziz, at Brave 1: The Beginning and then TKO’d Michael Deiga-Sheck at Brave 4: Unstoppable.
Índio Brabo, on the other hand, is a former The Ultimate Fighter Brazil competitor and has one Brave appearance. He defeated Brian Hooi at Brave 5: Go For Glory, the promotion’s first foray into India. Curiously, Al-Selwady also has experience on TV, as he was the coach of a MMA-based reality show in the Middle East region.
Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions will take place at the Khalifa Sports City Arena on November 17th, and will mark the culmination of the International Combat Week, alongside the IMMAF World Championships, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
