Phoenix 2 is shaping up to be one hell of a card, and let me tell you, we have never been this excited for a Muay Thai event!
The promotion has confirmed that former WBC World Champion, WMC and WFC European Champion Morgan Adrar will square off against WMC, WKU, Lumpinee, Rajadamnern and Yokkao Muay Thai World Champion Pakorn Musipon.
Morgan Adrar made his promotional debut when the promotion kicked off its first event in December. The French fighter put on a show for the Arab crowds in the co-main event of Phoenix 1, coming out victorious against Anvar Boynazarov at 67Kg.
Morgan Adrar vs Anvar Boynazarov Full Fight – Phoenix 1
His opponent, Pakorn Musipon who hails from Thailand has fought a total of 227 bouts, with 179 wins, 43 losses, and 5 draws. In 2008, Pakorn won the 115 lbs. Rajadamnern Stadium title by beating Khaimukdam Chuwattana. In 2010, Pakorn fought Pornsanae Sitmonchai twice, once at Lumpinee Stadium and once at Rajadamnern Stadium, besting the aggressive former Rajadamnern Stadium champion on both occasions. Pakorn also took on future Lumpinee Stadium champion Yodwicha Por Boonsit in 2012, with the fight ending in a draw.
Interestingly, both of Adrar and Musipon have crossed paths with the living legend and Phoenix 2 headliner Saenchai at some point of their career. Morgan Adrar had faced Saenchai at Thai Fight Kard Chuek in 2014, losing to a Decision after three rounds. And in 2012, Musipon fought Saenchai in Glasgow, Scotland in what was Pakorn’s first fight outside of Thailand. He lost the fight by decision after five rounds.
Adrar had also stepped into the ring twice against the Phoenix 2 headliner Azize Hlali , with the two settling the scores to one-one.
On the 29th of April, Adrar will challenge title holder Musipon for the WMC belt, the highest title a Muay Thai fighter can achieve in Muay Thai. The two will also be fighting for the Phoenix Muay Thai Championship belt.
Both fighters will go toe-to-toe in a battle that will leave you wondering which fighter will give up first. The mental toughness and determination of both fighters is impressive in its own right!
The main event of the evening will be a highly anticipated clash between living Muay Thai legend Saenchai and his standout challenger Azize Hlali. Phoenix 2 takes place April 29, in Beirut, Lebanon.
