Arab fighters, UAE-based prospects added to 971FC 2 lineup in Dubai

Dubai, UAE – 22 May 2025 – A number of notable regional and international talents are set to compete at 971 Fighting Championship 2 on June 14 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, with Muhammad Mokaev and Saygid Izagakhmaev topping the card.

Mokaev (14-0, 1 NC), an undefeated and world class Mixed Martial Artists is scheduled to face Kazakhstan’s Alisher Gabdullin (15-4) in the main event. In the co-main, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protégé, Izagakhmaev (22-2), takes on Congo’s Pupanga Tresor (10-3) in a welterweight bout.

The event, founded by UFC veteran Mounir Lazzez, aims to showcase a mix of rising talent from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, alongside established veterans and prospects from Europe.

Among the newly confirmed matchups, Egypt’s Ahmed “The Prince” Fares (21-8) returns to the 971FC cage to face Colombia’s Eduardo Mora (9-6-2). Fares, one of the region’s most experienced and fan-favored fighters, is coming off a slick standing guillotine victory in his promotional debut. Mora, based in Abu Dhabi and training out of ADMA Academy, is known for his toughness and will be looking to pull off the upset.

In welterweight action, Łukasz Szala of Poland — aggressive, rangy, and unorthodox — steps in to face Egypt’s Mohamed Salem (7-2-2), a former national champion with a well-rounded skill set and years of regional experience.

Dubai-based Lebanese lightweight Elie “The Wolverine” Mansour (2-0) returns for his toughest test yet, squaring off against Bondo Meskhi, a rising Georgian prospect with a strong wrestling background and physical style. Mansour, known for his cage control and sharp striking, will be looking to remain unbeaten against a gritty opponent.

Yazan Jaber, representing Jordan, takes on England’s Grant Ogborne showcasing regional pride and composure. Jaber is a clean, disciplined striker with growing support from the Middle Eastern MMA community, while Ogborne brings grit, boxing fundamentals, and poise under pressure.

In the Lightweight division, UK’s Max Flynn, who lives and trains in Dubai, meets the Philippines’ Japhet Dequito. Flynn brings constant pressure and volume, while Dequito enters with a reputation for toughness and a brawling Muay Thai style.

Rounding out the recent additions, Tunisia’s Maazri Ammar takes on India’s Suraj Singh Patel, a composed, technical striker. Ammar brings high-pressure offense and forward aggression, setting the stage for a competitive bout.

With a mix of established names, regional favorites, and rising international prospects, 971 Fighting Championship 2 promises a night of high-stakes action on June 14 in Dubai.
