Another welterweight bout has been added to Desert Force 13, this time pitting Brazilian Christopher Silva who fights out of Ready Team (Abu Dhabi) against Abdel Medjdoub of Tristar Gym Canada!
Interestingly enough, both fighters are dropping weight for this matchup, as Silva’s latest appearance was against Abdel Ali Aityachou at light heavyweight in Desert Force ‘Vs the World’ which took place back in October 2013. Silva took this fight in two days notice and managed to control a heavier Aityachou to secure a decision win.
In that same event, Medjdoub had made his Desert Force debut as a middleweight where he faced Tarek Suleiman in one of the most technical fights that night. After two spirited rounds, a knee injury to Tarek Suleiman brought an end to a competitive bout at 4:50 of Round 2, resulting in a TKO win for Medjdoub. A very classy ending to this fight, Medjdoub had been aware of Tarek’s injury and still did not go in for the kill.
